The school to which the Deputy refers is part of a campus project and is devolved for delivery to the school's patron.
Following the recent grant of planning permission for the project, the Department now expect to receive the Planning Report for review. The design team will then finalise and complete the stage 2b report for submission to the Department. As soon as this report is received, reviewed, and approved, the project will progress to tender stage and onwards to construction in due course.
The patron, as the delivery body will continue to engage directly with the school community to keep it fully informed of progress. The current status of all projects is listed on a county by county basis at www.gov.ie/en/department-of-education/services/major-projects/ and this is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, tender and construction.
My Department are in discussions with the owner of the land and buildings referred to by the Deputy in relation to the future use for the existing building and lands - these discussions are ongoing.
