To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she will provide a breakdown of the youth affairs funding schemes and the funding allocated to each in 2025, in tabular form; the breakdown of the funding, per scheme, by county or other geographical basis; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Arising from Budget 2025, €84.9m has been allocated for current and capital expenditure for the benefit of young people, an increase in funding of €7 million, or almost 9%, on the 2024 budget. Over the period from 2021 to 2025, the level of current Exchequer funding for youth services and programmes will have increased by over 34%.

Youth funding is administered on behalf of my Department by the 16 Education and Training Boards (ETBs) within each ETB functional area rather than on a county-by-county basis. A breakdown of the funding for 2025 under the various youth funding lines and grant schemes is provided in the tables below.

*Capital funding for upgrades to playgrounds and recreational facilities remains under the remit of the Department of Children, Disability and Equality. This funding did not transfer to the Department of Education and Youth as part of the recent transfer of functions, and therefore continues to be managed and administered by the original Department.

Youth Services Grant Scheme: 2025 Allocation - €16,500m (€14.8m main scheme, €0.458m YSGS Pilot & €1.7m for other initiatives for national youth organisations).
