Following the Audit regarding developmental dysplasia of the hip, I moved to strengthen governance and oversight structures at CHI and NOHC.

This was done via the appointment of two members of the Health Service Executive (HSE) Board to the Board of CHI.

There will also be a strengthening of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) between CHI and the HSE to reinforce operational oversight.

Further, there will be increased involvement and support from the Dublin Midlands Region Regional Executive Officer (REO) and senior management.

Further arrangements are being considered.

These actions are designed to support the new CEO in CHI, Lucy Nugent, and enable her to continue with the transformation programme she has started.
