To ask the Minister for Health if Children’s Health Ireland made her aware of a 2021 internal investigation (details supplied); if she has been provided with a copy of the report and its findings; if not, if she has requested a copy; if she will commit to publishing this report when she receives it; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Health is not routinely informed of internal examinations in acute hospitals. This is so in this case.
The internal CHI report referred to in a media was provided by CHI to the HSE CEO on Monday 26th May. I received a copy of this report from the HSE on Monday 26th May.
On Monday 26th May, I wrote to the Board of CHI requesting a full response to the report.
Following review of the current status of these issues, my Department will follow up with the HSE and CHI as appropriate to address any outstanding risks or concerns if these still exist.

As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly as soon as possible.
