As the Deputy may be aware, as Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including MetroLink.
Capital allocations for 2026 will not be finalised until the end of the current year and therefore a capital allocation figure for MetroLink in 2026 is not yet available.
An Bord Pleanála held an Oral Hearing in relation to MetroLink in February/March 2024. Following the Oral Hearing, An Bord Pleanála held an additional round of public consultation from August to October 2024. A planning decision on the project from An Bord Pleanála is awaited.
Noting the NTA's responsibility in the matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for a direct reply. Please contact my private office if you do not receive reply within 10 working days.
