The "Path to Universal Healthcare: Sláintecare & Programme for Government 2025+" (SC2025+), was published on 14 May, and outlines the roadmap towards a high-quality, universal healthcare system in Ireland. It highlights 23 projects and programmes across the three strategic priority areas of Improving Access, Improving Service Quality, Building Capacity and supported by a suite of Enabling Reforms.

Sláintecare 2025+ includes a detailed Action Plan for 2025 and further annual plans will be prepared for 2026 and 2027.

Sláintecare 2025+ aims to ensure healthcare that is accessible, affordable, high-quality, and focused on achieving the highest possible standards of care for the people of Ireland when they need it, where they need it, and at minimal cost or free at the point of service.
