To ask the Minister for Health to allocate funding to all local authorities and Government Departments to install suncream dispensers in all public buildings, including schools and third level institutes, to help normalise the application of sun cream and strive to reduce the instances of skin cancer in Ireland. The National Skin Cancer Prevention Plan 2023-2026 sets out the policies and actions which will reduce the risks associated with skin cancer for Ireland's population. The Plan's aims include a focus on increasing awareness of the importance of skin cancer prevention and promoting the adoption of skin cancer preventative behaviours.

A number of pilot programmes run by the National Cancer Control Programme in the HSE under the Plan saw the provision of sunscreen dispenser boards in 354 locations targeting outdoor workers and outdoor recreation, with further dispenser boards provided to the GAA for use at Croke Park and 6 regional grounds across the country.

These pilots have been evaluated and a report on the pilot has been submitted to my Department for review. Decisions in relation to the further expansion of these initiatives will be informed by the outcome of this review.

These measures act in tandem with a broad range of further initiatives to promote awareness and adoption of skin protection behaviours, chiefly through annual SunSmart campaigns.
