To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government to explain the rationale for recent comments he made in a newspaper (details supplied) regarding international investors; to provide any analysis his Department has conducted or used on the amount of any such investment in housing by international investors that Ireland is believed to be losing out on; the countries believed to be gaining investment from international investors at Ireland’s expense; the differences between the current yields on new build multi-residential units in Ireland compared to the rest of Europe; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
