My Department is fully supportive and remains committed to the opening of a Gaelcholáiste at the school referred to by the Deputy. It will meet the growing demand for a co-educational Gaelcholáiste in the Dublin 2, 4, 6 and 8 area.

My Department is currently working with the school patron to ensure the successful transition of the school to a co-educational Gaelcholáiste on a phased basis. The first phase of this transition, which will involve the 1st Year intake only, will take place in September 2026.
