482. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if he will investigate the viability of allowing South African citizens with a visa for the UK to be able to visit the State for a 90-day period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27629/25]

I can inform the Deputy that the Short-Stay Visa Waiver Programme allows nationals of certain countries, who have entered the UK on foot of certain UK short stay visas, to travel to Ireland without the requirement to obtain an Irish visa. This is a non-reciprocal arrangement. The list of countries eligible to participate on the programme is kept under consideration, however, I currently have no plans to add to the list of eligible countries.

I can also advise the Deputy that the option is available for regular travellers to seek a multi-entry visa for up to 5 years. These measures should assist in a more flexible visa package for South African citizens visiting Ireland.

Further information on multi-entry visas is also available on my Departments Immigration Service website at www.irishimmigration.ie/single-multiple-visas/
