297. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if at any stage since taking up a position as Minister he has deleted any SMS or messages on other messaging apps that would fall under freedom of information; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26429/25]

I am fully aware of my obligations under Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and I act in accordance with that legislation and the provisions of the National Archives Act. I have not deleted any messages in the manner suggested by the Deputy.

My Department produced a new Records Management Policy in 2024, which commits the organisation to effective records management practices with a focus on efficient organisational management, compliance with relevant legislation and an overall commitment to accountability and good governance.
