The CLÁR Programme provides funding under a number of different measures for small-scale infrastructural projects in designated rural areas that have experienced significant levels of depopulation over a defined period.

I launched the 2025 CLÁR programme on 4^th April last. Applications were invited under three separate measures:

Measure 1: Developing Community Facilities and Amenities

Measure 2: Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responder and Meals on Wheels Transport

Measure 3: ‘Our Living Islands’

The closing date for measure 1 applications submitted by Local Authorities under the 2025 CLÁR programme is the 13^th June 2025. Applications under measure 2 should be submitted directly to my Department by 23^rd May 2025 and measure 3 applications also to my Department by 13 June 2025.

The applications will be reviewed once the closing dates have passed and the successful projects, including those in Co Galway, will be announced later in the year.
