My Department is currently drafting Ireland’s National Building Renovation Plan which will outline our approach to ensuring the renovation of the national stock of residential and non-residential buildings, both public and private, into a highly energy-efficient and decarbonised building stock by 2050, with the objective to transform existing buildings into zero-emission buildings. A draft version of the plan will be submitted to the European Commission for review by the end of 2025 following a consultation period, with the final plan to be submitted to the Commission by 31 December 2026 in line with Article 3 of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
