Tusla has advised my Department that it is sometimes required to reprioritise available placements to respond to the urgent needs of children in care. In that context, Tusla has advised that on occasion, the Agency is required to temporarily close respite services in order to accommodate critical placements.
In this instance, Tusla has advised my department that the referenced respite centre in Clare will not be closed at this point in time, and the current respite arrangements for children in foster care will remain in place.

As this question refers to service matters, I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
