As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise that

under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the operation of the National Car Test (NCT) service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority (RSA).

Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the Authority for direct reply. Please contact my office if a response is not received within ten days.
