218. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he is satisfied with the sampling, testing and oversight of the quality of diesel available in Ireland; if a totally independent agency is needed similar to other EU member States to monitor on a real-time basis the quality and consistency of all tanker loads and batches of diesel available in the State; if he is aware that the inconsistency in the quality of diesel is causing mechanical and operational problems for hauliers; if the EU directive on fuel quality has been transposed into Irish law; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
