The estimated cost of a once off €50 payment to all recipients of the Carer’s Support Grant, Carer’s Benefit and Carer’s Allowance is €7.5 million. Please note that recipients of both Carer's Allowance and Carer's Benefit automatically qualify for the standard Carer's Support Grant payment, paid annually in June.

This costing is based on the estimated average number of recipients of Carer's Support Grant in 2025, and is subject to change in light of emerging trends and subsequent revision of the estimated number of recipients.

This costing assumes that the payment is made on the same basis as the lump sum payment to recipients of the scheme in November 2024, which was announced as part of Budget 2025.
