245. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he will consider introducing legislation similar to the United Kingdom’s Awaab’s Law, which sets legal time limits for the remediation of serious health hazards, such as damp and mould in social housing; and if he will respond to the findings of the recent Trinity College Dublin and The Liberties Community Project ‘Respiratory Health Among Residents of Oliver Bond House’ report which identified rates of asthma among the Oliver Bond House population 2.4 times higher than among individuals with addresses in the same vicinity, a situation clearly linked to substandard housing conditions in mid-century social housing complexes across the Dublin City Council area.
