147. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality to outline the membership of the strategic migration policy unit located within his Department; when it was established; how often has it met; its terms of reference; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24890/25]

My Department's work on migration includes engagement with other Departments on the development of policy across Government and to that end a Strategic Migration Policy Group was established in December 2024 to support that work. The objective is to develop whole-of-government approaches to migration that are coherent across Departments and responsive in seeking to address Ireland’s current and future demographic, economic and social policy needs. All relevant Departments are represented. The Group has met three times to date - its work will be central to the development of a National Migration and Integration Strategy as set out in the Programme for Government.
