My department has sourced and procured IT equipment manufactured by, or containing components from, companies on the list the Deputy refers to. This IT equipment includes laptops, desktops, servers and other peripherals manufactured by DELL and Hewlett-Packard, which can contain CPUs and other components made by Intel.
In sourcing and procuring equipment from these companies my department typically avails of OGP and HEAnet drawdown agreements whereby the contracting authority is the Office of Government Procurement.
The procurement and sourcing of IT equipment by my department is carried out in accordance with public procurement policy and national and European Union law and that expenditure is made in accordance with public financial procedures. National and EU procurement law is designed to ensure that all compliant suppliers are treated equally and fairly, regardless of their country of origin or affiliation.
