I propose to take Questions Nos. 42 to 47, inclusive, together.
For some background on the proposed development I refer the Deputy to the responses given by the then Ministers for Finance to Parliamentary Questions reference numbers 23419/25, 28575/24 and 26235/24.
As the Deputy is presumably aware, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) has invested in GMC on a commercial basis as a minority investor. ISIF has invested alongside Hackman Capital Partners, the controlling majority shareholder, and Capwell, another minority shareholder.
The timing and scope of the project in Greystones is determined by the company, not ISIF.
ISIF regularly engages with the company and other shareholders regarding the proposed development. While ISIF has committed to invest up to €24m in GMC to part fund the acquisition of the site and the development of a film studio, it should be noted this is the value of its commitment and does not represent the amount invested. As ISIF’s investments in projects and businesses are often undertaken on a phased basis as a project progresses or as a business evolves, the commitment figure should not be seen as reflective of the amount that ISIF has actually invested to date. As ISIF is a commercial investor it cannot disclose any non-public or commercially sensitive information related to its investment in the company.
For my part, since taking up my portfolio as Minister for Finance in January this year, I haven’t had any engagement with the parties involved in the Greystones Media Campus (GMC) nor would I expect to do so given the commercial nature of the project.
