1287. To ask the Minister for Rural and Community Development to confirm that consideration would be given to granting and paying out the sum awarded to a club (details supplied) under the community centre investment fund, in spite of the fact that the works were undertaken prior to the notification of successful applicants in March 2025, due to the fact that these works were necessitated by circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Community Centre Investment Fund (CCIF) has provided in excess of €109 million since 2022 for the enhancement and refurbishment of existing community centres and the construction of new centres.

The group referenced by the Deputy submitted an application under category 2 of the 2024 fund and were awarded funding of €31,768.65 for enhancement works on their facility.

However, it has been confirmed that the works were completed in advance of the closing date for applications and in advance of the date on which the project was subsequently approved for funding. These works are therefore not eligible under the Community Centre investment Fund. Funding cannot be provided for projects delivered in advance of the delivery timeframe outlined for the scheme.
