To ask the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 406 of 27 March 2025, if she will provide a detailed breakdown of the reasons 132 of the 200 appeals to reimbursement recommendations for continuous glucose monitor sensors submitted by clinicians on behalf of their patients were rejected (details supplied); if the patients rejected on appeal were clinically confirmed with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes at secondary care level; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and medical devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
