494. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he will clarify the current position of the Office of Public Works regarding the former Garda Station at An Rinn, County Waterford, and the adjoining State-owned lands; and to confirm whether the OPW will engage with the local authority or an approved housing body regarding the disposal of this site for the development of social and affordable housing to meet local need. I am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works (OPW) that the Garda station at An Rinn, Co. Waterford is an operational Garda station and the OPW has not been advised by An Garda Síochána that the property is surplus to their requirements. Therefore, the OPW is not in a position to engage with Waterford City and County Council or an approved housing body to dispose of the property for social and affordable housing.
