The funding (capital and current) provided to Uisce Éireann from my Department's Vote (34) for the years 2020 to 2024 is set out in the table below:

Year Vote 34 Funding (€m)
2020 1,303
2021 1,276
2022 €1,415
2023 €1,650
2024 €1,787
The Uisce Éireann budget allocation for 2025 from Vote 34 is €1,704m with €419m paid to date. Uisce Éireann will also be allocated €514m in 2025 of the €1bn capital investment announced by the Minister for Finance in the Budget 2025.

It should also be noted that for the period 2020-2024 a debt facility was provided to Uisce Éireann by the Minister for Finance.

Uisce Éireann has statutory responsibility for all aspects of water services planning, delivery and operation at national, regional and local levels. This includes the allocation of funds between different projects. As Minister, I have no role in these operational decisions.
