I am advised by Revenue that the table below sets out the estimated yield from the introduction of a second home charge of €400, €1000 and €2,000 respectively on properties liable to Local Property Tax, excluding the first property for each liable person and excluding all other properties owned by Local Authorities and Approved Housing Bodies. Revenue does not hold adequate information to distinguish between principal and non-principal private residences for the purpose of this costing.
Second Home Charge Rate | Estimated Revenue Yield €m |
---|---|
Rate 1 - €400 | 145 |
Rate 2 - €1,000 | 362 |
Rate 3 - €2,000 | 724 |
