To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence the number of IT projects within his Department, or bodies under its aegis, which have been allocated funds in excess of €1 million in the years 2020 to date; the purpose of any projects; the initial estimate to complete for such projects; the total amount expended to date; the total estimated cost to complete; the estimated timeframe by which they expected to be completed; by project; by year; in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following table lists the IT projects undertaken by my Department in the years 2020 to date, which have been allocated funds in excess of €1million;

Civil Defence Volunteer & Equipment Management System (VEMS) – 2021 - 2029 New VEMS application manages registration of volunteers, Garda vetting, volunteer training, competencies, deployments, equipment maintenance and ordering stock. The system includes an online portal for volunteers 1,770,000 1,250,144 519,856 1,770,000 Application went live in 2023. On-going support and maintenance continues
