150. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if there are plans for the installation of an all-weather pitch and running track in St. Anne’s Park, Dublin, given the large number of cancelled matches last year and the need to improve youth and public fitness; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Over a quarter of a billion euro was allocated to 3,048 community sports clubs and facilities in 2024 from the 2023 round of the Community Sports Facilities Fund, the CSFF, representing the largest-ever investment in sports facilities in communities across Ireland.
Dublin City Council was allocated €200,000 under the 2015 round of the CSFF (then know as the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme) for an all-weather pitch at St. Anne’s Park, Dublin, which is fully drawn down. There were no further applications from the Council for funding for sports facilities at St Anne's Park under subsequent rounds.
All registered organisations are automatically notified when a new round of the CSFF is open for applications. In line with previous rounds of the programme, a review of the current funding round will be undertaken and that review will inform the timing of the next round of the CSFF. However, I would anticipate that the next round should be announced in 2026.
