Relevant officials in my Department could not identify any specific instances where concerns were raised by other families regarding cardiac device management or pacemaker-related complications at Children's Health Ireland.
My Department is committed to improving patient services and having patient-centred care and there are robust procedures for complaints regarding the health service.
Under Part 9 of the Health Act 2004, any person has the right to complain about any action of the HSE or a service provider that they believe was not fair or had an adverse effect on them. The HSE has appointed designated Complaints Officers to ensure the effective management of complaints throughout their relevant areas of responsibility.
