Enterprise Ireland have advised that they are not aware of any project funded by the agency in respect of a sugar processing or bioethanol plant. They are aware of some very early discussions with companies looking at future bioethanol but no proposal at this stage.

The IDA have also confirmed that they have not provided any funding over the past five years towards the development of a bioethanol or a sugar processing plant in Ireland.
