52. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if priority is afforded to applicants who opt to take their driving test through Gaeilge in relation to driving test waiting times; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22085/25]

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. This includes all application and scheduling matters.

I have therefore referred the Deputy's question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. This includes all application and scheduling matters. Neither I nor my officials are involved in the service at an operational level or in individual cases.

Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct response and update in relation to the specific applicant cited. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
