The National Radiation Therapist Review has recommended a series of measures aimed at improving staff recruitment and retention including through the development of new roles such as advanced practice, aide roles, reviewing the grading structure for the radiation therapy profession and career development in line with Health and Social Care Professional Frameworks.

Responsibility for implementing the Review's recommendations rests with the HSE. I am advised that the implementation group is currently being established and will meet this month.
