191. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to Parliamentary Question No.130 of 10 April 2025, the number of the additional permanent positions for driver testers sanctioned by his Department have been allocated to Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. While the Department has conveyed sanction for up to 200 permanent driver testers, detailed information on the deployment of those testers and allocation of capacity in Cork is held by the RSA.

I have therefore referred the Deputy’s question to the RSA for direct reply and I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
