379. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his Department will review the current access policy at the Bus Éireann depot in Drogheda, County Louth, which currently prohibits taxi access; if he is aware that the depot is located at the junction of two main roads and requires passengers including elderly individuals and those with mobility issues to cross at least one of these busy roads while carrying luggage; if he is further aware that there is space under the ownership of Bus Éireann at this depot which could be used to provide a safe and accessible drop-off and pick-up point for taxis and other vehicles; and if he will intervene to ensure that accessibility and passenger safety are prioritised at this location; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The queries raised by the Deputy are operational matters for Bus Éireann. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
