Almost all of my Department's computer systems can utilise the síneadh fada. The exceptions to this are listed in the table below. The current inability of these systems to utilise the síneadh fada is due to external restrictions which my Department will keep under review.
Computer System | Restriction | Comment: |
---|---|---|
Microsoft Entra ID | User Principal Name only allows the following characters: In addition to the síneadh fada, this constraint also restricts use of all other accent marks, other diacritics, and other special characters in any other language. | External restriction imposed by Microsoft. |
Department of Education FMS (Financial Management System) - Oracle Financials | Payment file containing síne fadas are not compatible with the external bank’s system and therefore cannot be used. | External restriction imposed by external bank. |
