To ask the Minister for Health if an investigation can be conducted into the practice by the EHIC office of giving a letter to persons when the physical EHIC card will not be received on time, as in one particular case (details supplied), where the paper form is not accepted and it results in costs to the person for medical care that would otherwise have been covered by the physical EHIC card; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible
