To ask the Minister for Health if she will bring forward a proposal to establish a commission of investigation into the actions of relevant State bodies in response to historical complaints of sexual assault brought against a medical practitioner based at Our Lady Of Lourdes, Drogheda, between 1977 to the 1990s, as sought by an organisation (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Government is determined to listen to the victims represented by Dignity4Patients and consider what actions are appropriate in response to the issues raised by them.
I plan to meet with the group later this week and to listen to what they have to say.
I and my Government colleagues will reflect on the issues raised by the group and we will engage further with them.
