1761. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if his Department will arrange for posters to be erected on all approaches to entry points at all airports and ports reminding persons not to touch sick or dead wild birds and to report same due to the increase number of dead wild birds being reported. My Department maintains an ongoing communication campaign to keep the public aware of what to do if they encounter sick or dead wild birds, to minimise the risk of avian influenza infection. This includes advertising in the media, radio and television interviews, maintaining the AvianCheck App on my Department's website, and the National Disease Emergency Hotline where members of the public can report sick or dead wild birds to my Department.
There are currently no plans to expand to messaging at ports of entry as my Department already carries communication at ports and airports relating to African Swine Fever and Foot and Mouth Disease.
