1672. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views on the fact that a person (details supplied) is the registered breeder of a litter of nine greyhound pups born on 23 June 2023 despite them being banned from owning, keeping, dealing in or having control directly or indirectly of any dogs in their possession for ten years, due to pleading guilty to seven offences under the Animal Health and Welfare Act on 12 May 2022 in County Tipperary; if all nine pups are currently accounted for on the Greyhound Racing Ireland traceability system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) is a commercial state body, established under the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry. RCÉ is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The question raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for RCÉ and, therefore, the question has been referred to the body for direct reply.

1673. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if a greyhound litter (details supplied) born on 23 June 2023 was created using surgical artificial insemination; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18611/25]

The Irish Coursing Club (ICC) is the organisation charged with the role of Keeper of the Irish Greyhound Stud Book (IGSB) since 1923. The Stud Book records pedigrees, ownerships, breeding data and transfers of ownership primarily of all greyhounds. The ICC is subject to the general control and direction of Rásaíocht Con Éireann.

The ICC has informed my Department that the greyhound litter referred to was not “created using surgical artificial insemination”.

1674. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he is aware of a non-coursing greyhound (details supplied) who is registered as a rehomed pet in Limerick on the Irish Stud Book and the Greyhound Racing Ireland website but is reportedly advertised as being located and available for stud in the Hebei Province, People's Republic of China, following his last race at Galway greyhound track on 8 February 2025; if he has confidence in the racing industry's reported greyhound homing figures; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am not aware of the allegations referred to by the Deputy.

The question raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for RCÉ and, therefore, I have asked RCÉ to examine the matter.
