The Programme for Government commits to the establishment of a transport security force under the remit of the National Transport Authority (NTA). As the NTA falls under the responsibility of my colleague the Minister for Transport, I can confirm that my Department does not have a role in the establishment of this force at this time. Officials in my Department are available to liaise with colleagues in the Department of Transport and the NTA if required.
