As the Deputy will understand, for sound reasons of security it is not the practice to comment on the specific means used by An Garda Síochána to address the security of any individual, group or organisation.

The Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 sets out the functions of An Garda Síochána, which include the provision of security services for the State. Under the Act, the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of Garda business. As Minister, I have no role in these independent, operational functions.
