1574. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the additional resources that will be put in place for the new academic year in September 2025 to cope with the high demand to register with the immigration services at the Burgh Quay registration office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department, where necessary, will assign additional resources to the Registration Office to handle the seasonal demands around the academic term and the high volume of international student registering.
Following their arrival in Ireland, any new non-EEA national students have up to 90 days to register their immigration permission. All first-time registrations nationwide are being handled at the Burgh Quay Registration Office in Dublin. Students will need to book an appointment using my Departments Digital Contact Centre (DCC), and I would encourage them to secure an appointment as early as possible upon arrival in the State. The DCC can be accessed at the following link:
For existing students nationwide, they can apply to renew their immigration permission online up to 12 weeks before its expiry date. The online renewals platform can be accessed on my Departments Immigration Service website here: https://inisonline.jahs.ie.
Should a student have any queries on the registration or renewal process, they can submit these queries using the DCC. Further information, along with guidance for both new and existing students, is available here: www.irishimmigration.ie/registering-your-immigration-permission/
