1507. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if his Department has engaged with representatives of prison officers since January 2024 on the issues with the fast accrual (uniformed) single public service pension scheme for uniformed services recruited after 2013; the dates of those engagements; if his Department has taken any action as a result of these engagements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I recently met with representatives of the Prison Officers Association, during which a range of issues was discussed, among them the fast accrual (uniformed) single public service pension scheme for uniformed services recruited after 2013.

While policy and legislative responsibility for the fast accrual scheme for officers recruited after 2013 rests in the first instance with the Department for Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform, I have asked officials in my Department to follow up on the issues raised.
