Disability Allowance (DA) is a weekly allowance paid to people with a specified disability who are aged 16 or over and under the age of 66. This disability must be expected to last for at least one year and the allowance is subject to a medical assessment, means test and habitual residency conditions.

My Department periodically reviews claims to ensure there is continued entitlement.

Following a review, it was decided that the person concerned did not meet the qualifying criteria for DA from 12 February 2025 on the grounds that they failed to provide sufficient information enabling the Deciding Officer to determine if their means exceed the statutory maximum allowed under the DA Scheme.

The person failed to respond to a letter issued on 10 January 2025 that gave them the opportunity to submit the requested information. The person also failed to respond to a letter issued on 06 February 2025 regarding the suspension of the payment following a failure to submit additional information requested by a Social Welfare Inspector.

The person concerned was notified on 28 February 2025 of this decision, the reason for it and their right of review and / or appeal.

I can confirm that, to date, no supporting documentation has been received by my Department in respect of a review / appeal of the decision of 28 February 2025.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
