I propose to take Questions Nos. 1218 and 1219 together.

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) provides detailed data available on a number of planning related matters, including permissions granted by development type and county, on its website. This is updated on a quarterly basis and can be accessed at the following link: www.cso.ie/en/statistics/buildingandconstruction/planningpermissions/

With regard to the number of planning applications for rural one-off housing; while planning authorities do provide regular returns to my Department in relation to the number of planning applications received and decided upon, these returns do not provide a breakdown indicating which applications relate to one-off dwellings. The planning authorities in question may be able to provide appropriately granular data.

An Bord Pleanála (the Board) is the national independent statutory body with responsibility for the determination of planning appeals and direct applications for strategic infrastructure and other developments under the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, and certain other Acts.
