As Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage I have responsibility for a wide range of issues which fall under the Heritage heading. These include, but are not limited to, Nature Conservation and Protection, Peatlands Restoration, Ireland's obligations under a range of EU and International agreements in the area of nature protection and the EU Nature Restoration Law as well as overall responsibility for the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).

I propose to delegate a range of these functions to Minister of State Christopher O'Sullivan as part of the formal Delegation of Functions process in the coming weeks.

Further details on these areas of responsibility are set out on my Department's website at the following link - Assistant Secretary, Heritage Division
