The school to which the Deputy refers was granted approval under my Department's Additional School Accommodation Scheme to provide 3 mainstream classrooms (prefab replacement) and a 2 classroom special educational needs base. This project is devolved to the school authority for delivery.
The project is currently at Stage 1 (design) of the architectural process. While the school appointed a Design Team in 2020, the site presents technical challenges due to space being restricted on site. The Department awaits a decision from the school authority regarding how they wish to proceed.
My Department will continue to engage with the school authority to provide practical advice and assistance on the project.
