My Department’s new Portal-based employment permits IT system – ‘Employment Permits Online’ was launched on the 28th April 2025.
The previous employment permit service utilised older technologies which were no longer fit for purpose. The new modern cloud-based system will transform the way in which employment permits are submitted, processed and issued. It will deliver an improved customer experience and a more secure, efficient and responsive service.
Employment Permits Online (EPO) introduces several significant improvements over the old system, enhancing both functionality and user experience. Some of the key enhancements are as follows:
- User-Friendly Interface: EPO features a more intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it easier for users to navigate and complete their applications. The streamlined design reduces the complexity of the application process, ensuring that users can efficiently submit their employment permit requests.
- Enhanced Document Management: The system offers improved document management capabilities, allowing users to upload, track, and manage their supporting documents more effectively. This includes better organisation and accessibility of documents, reducing the likelihood of errors and delays.
- Real-Time Status Updates: EPO provides real-time status updates, enabling users to monitor the progress of their applications at every stage. This transparency helps users stay informed and reduces uncertainty about the application process.
- Robust Security Features: The new system incorporates robust security features, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), to protect sensitive information. This ensures that only authorized users can access the system, safeguarding personal and financial data.
- Efficiency and Responsiveness: The new system is designed to be more efficient and responsive, reducing processing times and improving overall service delivery. This enhancement ensures that applications are handled promptly, benefiting both employers and employees.
