As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for overall policy and exchequer funding in relation to Greenways and Active Travel infrastructure. I have made no representations to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage in relation to this matter.

The planning, design, and construction of individual Greenways and Active Travel infrastructure is managed by the National Transport Authority and Transport Infrastructure Ireland in conjunction with the relevant local authority. The two agencies are responsible for the development and publication of technical standards documentation in relation to the delivery of the infrastructure – this may include reference to ancillary infrastructure such as accessible public toilets.
