Climate Actions Work is a national programme of engagement on climate action. It enables people and communities across Ireland to be part of the conversation about climate change. The Climate Actions Work project includes: an expanded programme of engagement activities and events; a training programme on communications and engagement; funding and resources for community groups to support climate communications and engagement at a local level; an interactive map of regional activities that are happening in different areas; and a national communications campaign to tell the story of community climate actions that are already making a difference.
The Climate Actions Work Communications and Engagement Fund is specifically aimed at community groups and organisations to support them in delivering communications and engagement activities focused on community climate actions. Two groups taking action in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area each received funding of €2,500 under this initiative namely the Royal Terrace Residents Association and Dodder Action.
The 2024 programme was run on a pilot basis and a thorough evaluation will be conducted which will inform the future direction of community engagement funding.
More information on the programme, including the fund, training, events, and the map, can be found at www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/86098-climate-actions-work/
